EDELWEISS HISTORY
THE COMPANY WHO STARTED IT ALL
INVENTION OF KERMANTLE ROPE
In 1953, we introduced the biggest innovation ever in the world of mountain sports. We invented the kermantle rope, a rope made of a seperate interior core and protected by a braided exterior sheath.
This sparked an evolution of mountaineering and modern sport climbing due to the new ropes strength, durabilty, as well as flexibility. The invention made ropes safer to climb on and is still used for all climbing ropes today.
EDELWEISS PRODUCTION

ROPE TESTS & SAFETY
We go above and beyond when testing our ropes. We don't only conform to the standards, certifications, and tests for our ropes, we use real life instances of what could happen mountaineering, climbing, canyoneering, or during professional uses.
Rope standards require 5 UIAA falls.
Edelweiss ropes can reach up to 8, 9, & 10 UIAA falls!
